This M65 Field Jacket was owned by CCC veteran SGT Kent B.White Jr. White was a 1-2 in Recon Company during 1969, I am still researchingwhat recon Team he was with. The M65 jackets were worn in the colder parts of Vietnam and are much rarer than the usual Jungle Jacket. It features US & Vietnamese Jump Wings, CIB and Subdued Special Forces Insignia. Purchased from noted SOG collector and author Jason Hardy.
Kent B. White (codename: Ambitious) joined Recon Team Illinoisin June/July 1968. He took the 1-1 position with JamesTramel the 1-0. White held the Assistant Team Leader position until August 2, 1968 when he was Wonded In Action while on operation in Target Area ROMEO-3 andwas medevacedto Cam Ranh Bay, RVN then to Japan. Kent returned to Vietnam and was reassigned to Command & Control Central, TOC (Technical Operations Centre), S-2 Shop while he recovered from his wounds. Sergeant (E-5) White processed out of the Army in January 1969 after three years service and 12 montsh service in Vietnam. He returned to his home state of California and made a career in the construction industry. in 1981, Kent joined the 12th Special ForcesGroup (Reserves) assigned to ODA-315 where he remained until 1987.
