A 1st pattern US jungle jacket to a Captain Pendleton. Note the full colour insignia apart from a subdued printed name tape. It is probably safe to assume that this is a replacement for the white based version that was probably worn on this jacket originally. Note the green combat leader shoulder straps and the 3rd Division patch on the “combat” side indicating that prior to serving in Special Forces this soldier has served at least one operational tour with that division, probably during WW2 or Korea. He wears the cross rifles of the infantry branch on his collar not the crossed arrows of the SF. All of the shoulder patches are of the “cut edge” variety.
Note also the repair to the jacket under the lower righ hand pocket.
