This is the new Gen III ECWCS in ACU pattern currently being trialed by the 10th mountain Division in Iraq. These replace the current ECWCS in Woodland and Tri-Desert. The system works on a layering principal from a silk base layer through to a down/loft jacket, this is the Loft Jacket layer made by Primaloft, and is very light weight and will compress to a small size.
The Loft Jacket layer doesnt feature any Sleeve pockets but does have Velcro on the front for rank and US Army tabs. The jacket has a concealed hood in the collar.
