Last weekend some of the modern forces crew put on their 101st WW2 kit (not 100% spot on kit wise we know) and headed to the Longmoor FIBUA village in the UK for a very different training day.
The FIBUA village is a modern facility that was used by the MOD for Northern Ireland training and now for the everyday training of troops pre deployment.
It was also used by HBO for the actors in there iconic TV show “Band of Brothers” to do their basic training pre filming so they had some sort of idea of how to move like a soldier and what it’s like even if for a short time to be in soldiers shoes or should that be boots?
This Airsoft event was being run by the crew at www.gunmanairsoft.co.uk and was based on the battle for the small French town of Carentan.
For us it was something different as, members of moderforces.com have been to the site many times before but never at a WW2 style event and it was a totally different experience. For more about the real battle at Carentan we suggest this page.
Hope you enjoy the photos below.
And for a full lowdown with loads more photos on the event keep your eyes out for Airsoft International in the coming weeks. www.ai-mag.com
