Bright Light was the codename for rescue of US personel, be those downed pilots, US ground forces such as SOG recon teams of US prisoners of war. During a six year period, more than 125 rescue operations would be launched, primarily by SOG, to recover U.S. prisoners of war. Attempts included raids, ransoms and prisoner exchanges. The book tells about the actual rescue attempts that were outstanding examples of bravery, courage, and audacity.
We have chosen to portray a team on a Brightlight mission to rescue a downed Phantom Pilot (Call sign Steel Panther), time being of the essense teh team load up with extra weapons, medic gear, demo gear (to help with extraction sites) and lose the rations and water. When on Bright light duty a team would spend a week at Dak To launch site and be on 24 hour call for a rescue mission.
