In 1965, the Central Inteligence Agency supplied MACV-SOG with two versions of a survival vest, both termed the 1-0 vest. The first version was issued to early SOG Leaping Lena teams. These garments were manufactured from a heavy weight cotton material with a commercial grade YKK zipper, three leather fron expansion straps, a leather shoulder holster under the left arm, two mid chest and two lower pockets. The back of the vest has waist adjustments with two small kidney pockets and a large vertical zipper.
