In early 1971, Robert Cook was reassigned from 5th Special Forces Group (ABN), A-341 located in Bu Dop, RVN to MACV-SOG , Task Force 1 Advisory Element (CCN). He joined Recon team Habu and took the 1-1 position with Lemual McGlothern the 1-0. In late 1971, he transferred to Recon Team Intruder and took the team leader position where he remained until the team was disbanded in March 1972. In early 1972 he also held the dual title of Team Leader for RT Habu.

The boonie pictured was used by Cook during this period and features a Special Mission Force beer-can insignia, this was sourced from Jason Hardy at Dog Tag Militaria.
