The Nomex Flyers Glove replaced the dark brown and grey flyers glove made of Sheepskin. It was a woven fire retardant fabric with a thin leather palm. Initially issued to Airforce peronnel they were used late in teh war by SOG Recon teams as they offered protection with dexterity.

SOG Teams also wore cut-off leather fingerless gloves, often know as "Recon Gloves"
