First Aid Pouch

The canvas M1956 pouch was used for carrying either the OD field dressing or a lensatic compass (though SOG RT teams tended to keep the compass secured round the neck with 550 cord and in the shirt pocket) . The pouch can be seen here attached to the Stabo Harness with OD "100 mph" tape or black insulation/electrical tape.

The triangualr bandage had a number of uses, from headband (bandit style), headwrap (pirate style) or use as a belt. This meant that if injured there was always a bandage to hand (and serving a useful purpose until it was needed)
