General Electric tape recorder & wire-tap device

SOG Teams would be tasked with listening to enemy communication for intelligence purposes, initially large reel-to-reel tape decks were trialed but they were bulky and the batteries had a very short life. CISO sourced prototype compact tape recorders from companies such as General Electric that had a more compact tape and much longer battery life.

The tape deck would be connected to a number of wire tap devices, from crude splicing of cables (easily detectable) to a much superior induction device developed by SOE in WW2. I am going to make my own replica wire-tap devices so if anyone has any detailed pictures or blueprints it would be appreciated. paul@howsplendid.com
